9.16.00 - AC/DC and Slash's Snakepit by Ravi Blockbuster Pavillion setlist: life's sweet drug, been there lately, just like anything, mean bone, shine, mr brownstone, speed parade time: about 35 mins. Slash's snakepit had the red banner with the logo in back of them and they started a bit late, but the set was pretty good, they ran through it quickly. He wore his tophat and leather pants, but I couldn't make out what was on the shirt. Rod took his off, the hemp shirt, pretty quickly because it was very hot over there. it hit 108 degrees in the afternoon!!!!! Unfortunately someone passed out after the Slash set and had to be taken out of the show. Slash played well as usual and the songs rocked. I felt that some of the songs didn't really hit me, but I really liked Speed Parade, Life's Sweet Drug, Shine, and of course Mr. Brownstone. As I expected, many more people responded to that song! Slash got a good little solo section during Mean Bone, and Brownstone .. and luckily there was a screen so we could see closeups. He didn't run around as much as he usually does, but he got a few good jumps in there. Kerri was pretty good i thought, but i definitly liked Ryan better. He did have good energy during the show though. Matt was really good, he is a very good drummer and fits in with the band perfectly. They could have turned down the drum volume a bit though. The guys were really happy to be back home I could tell. I was impressed with Johnny G, he really put a lot of energy into his performance, and even sang some lines with Rod. Rod did well and tried to get the crowd involved with the show more..I think he sounded better last year, and some of the stuff sounded a bit forced like Mr. Brownstone. The sound wasn't too bad, quite loud actually. Sometimes the drums drowned out the lead guitar, and also the vocals were sometimes hard to make out. Overall, a really fun show and I'm glad I went. AC/DC couldn't have picked a better band to open. Unfortunately they didn't get more time and attention, but they did do a good job, and got to promote the new album which was good for them. "good weed, hot women, and hot weather too!" AC/DC: 1. You Shook Me All Nite Long 2. Stiff Upper Lip 3. Shot Down In Flames 4. Thunderstruck 5. Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be 6. Hard As A Rock 7. Shoot To Thrill 8. Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution 9. Safe In New York City 10. Bad Boy Boogie 11. Hells Bells 12. Meltdown 13. The Jack 14. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 15. Back In Black 16. Highway To Hell 17. Whole Lotta Rosie 18. Let There Be Rock Encore 19. TNT 20. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) "we have a real rock n' roll audience tonight!" Not much to say about ACDC except that you have to see them if you can possibly go. Like Slash said, they really know how to put on a rock n' roll show. It was the most fun I've had at a show in a while.. two words come to mind: KICK ASS! there's not much point in writing more.. you had to be there.
