Gilby in Buenos Aires, Argentina May 26th, 27th, and 28th. *** Friday May 26th, 2000... La Trastienda Show I met Ryan and Johnny at the end of the show... Ryan is soooo cooool !! ....had Gilby by my side but he was rounded by 10 fans (more or less) and it wasn't easy to aproach to him... I said to myself: "I'll have another oportunity tomorrow" the band went to a radio programme Friday at 4pm and made and interview + 25min concert... cool mini show! The show at La Trastienda was GREAT! Roxie is a great performer, he doesn't stop jumping and interacting with the fans! Johnny is the typical punk rocker and is always making crazy faces... he's really GOOD on the bass... Eric got 15% of the audience on his pocket there were a lot of Kiss fans on the show but most of the fans were GUNNERS!! that was soo great, I mean... haven't seen such amount of Gunners in one room for a long time! :o) Gilby? well, all the ladies form the audience (or most) were dying for him! :o) guess I don't have to say that the other 75% left from the audience was for Gilby! There were some girls that (as they used to do with GNR) keep on shouting for Gilby the hole show as histericals... and Gilby loves that reaction from the fans... I loved Gilby's performance, he is an easy going person and is really down to earth, even on stage... we (fans and the band) definitelly had a blast!! SetList for Friday May 26th 2000... Gilby in La Trastienda, Buenos Aires. Argentina Wasn't Yesterday Great Motorcycle Conboys (?) Black Nothing to Loose (Kiss) Eric on Voice Knocking (Dylan) No more Mr Nice guy (Cooper) Ryan on Voice Cure me Kill me Wild Horses (Stones) Tijuana - My Michelle (GNR) Dead Flowers (Stones) - Used to love her (GNR) R & R all nite (Kiss) (guess this are all that they have played and the right order) *** Saturday May 27th, 2000 Show at La Trastienda well, saturday was a great day for me!! I started the day early in the afternoon... I arrived to the Hotel where they were staying ...I waited for the band till 4:30pm when they came back to the hotel because they had been making interviews... by that time 10 fans were outside the hotel waiting for the band... the band with a great mood greeted all the fans and signed stuffs (except for Eric, as always )... Johnny was the first one to go to his room to rest... they all were very tired! ... 2 fans told me that they arrived at 7am cos they went to "The Roxy" disco after friday show... they played some covers at the Roxy ... when they arrived to the hotel in the morning, Eric Singer crossed the street singing "Living la vida Loca" song from Ricky Martin! that would have been really funny to see... :o) he he... After meeting the band and making an interview with Roxie (with a journalist friend of mine) I called my friends from "Louder" (the Crue cover band that was opening for saturday Gilby's show)... At 10pm we (Louder and I) arrived to La Trastienda... I got my first pass of all times and it was for a Gilby's show!! what else can I ask for??? Louder went on stage at 11pm and gave a kick ass show!! even Eric singer take a look to the band at the end of the show!!... I saw him on one side of the stage looking at the show... went back backstage and when Anarchy in UK started, we got Eric coming back to check Louder again... I was Louder "Photographer" (if I can be called that way) and took cool shots :o) when Louder finished, I went backstage and crossed Gilby and the rest of the guys that were going to the stage... greeted and wished them "Good show!" .... when Roxie passed in front of us (Louder crew) said... "Great show guys!" PS: thanks Roxie!! :o) As I was with a professional camera and got a pass, I acted as if I was part of the press that went to the concert to take pics... :o) stayed 3 songs in front of the stage taking GREAT pics from Gilby's show!! then, I went to the vip section (some kind of balcony on both side of the stage in a first floor)... great view! I was on Johnny's side (in the left side of the stage)... Roxie and Johnny recognized me greeted and laughted... if ya have heard something about Argentinina audience, I can be a sum of them... I really feel music and get crazy in concert... (in a positive way, ya know) ... love to dance and sing... and Johnny get as crazy as me ... we spent a cool time singing to each other (btw... in case ya don't know, he's really handsome... :o) and I'm not the only one that thinks that way... chatting with other fans, they made me the same quotation... as well as about Roxie... he made some fans here too!! The concert, just 2 words: kicked ass!!!!! After the show, we all (Louder crew) meet Gilby's band... got great pics from that meeting! Gilby told Dimi (Louder's singer) that he has a really good voice! Dimi is so happy for Gilby's comment... Dimi really respect the guy... after the meeting, the bad went to The Roxy to have some drinks and maybe play ... Gilby told me that he wasn't sure if they'd be playing that night... they just wanted to hang out and have some drinks... finally they (except for Johnny that left the place early) played some cover songs from Ramones, Rod Stewart and Beatles... it was sooo cool! Gilby's manager played bass instead of Johnny... *** Sunday May 28th, 2000 ... La Trastienda show (acoustical) (?) The show wasn't an acoustical show... they only made an acoustical set into an electric show (guess it was what we all wanted!) ... unfortunatelly Gilbys voice was fucked up on Sunday... too much party time the night before... he he... :o) the best moments form the show was definitelly when the band was playing "You can't always get what ya want" from the Stones and as the guitar base was similar to Patience, the audience started singing Patience... it was sooo great to see Gilb and the rest of the guys faces! they were like "wow look at this people!"... so they played and the audience put the voice on the song... then the band joined the audience on the last chorus and at the end they thanked the audience and aplaused them!! Personally, I also loved the Tijuana-Sweet Emotion - My Michelle medley... It was sooo damn cool !! Sunday May 28th setlist (Rock and Pop FM aired the show)... + Wasn't Yesterday Great + Black + Cure me ... Kill me + Nothing to loose (Kiss) + Mercedez Benz + You can't always get what ya want (Stones) - Patience (GNR) + Knocking (Dylan) + Dead Flower (Stones) - Used to love her (GNR) + No more Mr night Guys (Cooper) + Monkey Chow (my fav of the show with Tijuana and My Michelle intro)... (Snakepit) + Come together (Beatles) + Tijuana - Sweet Emotion (Aerosmith) - My Michelle (GNR) - Drum solo + R & R all nite (Kiss) ok, the show started 11:20pm and ended 12:43 am... everyone says it was the best show from the 3 they made last weekend... and I missed it... shit!! on the other side, on Sunday, I went to the Kiss convention that was set in the afternoon at La Trastienda venue... Eric Singer was there and also Roxie showed up ... beside selling stuffs from Kiss, they made a concert (Jesus! Eric is a great drummer!, but not as cool person as his playing... everyone that have met him said the same) but well... Eric played with a local band called "Mad" ( that are friends with Bruce Kulick and John Corabi also) and Sebastian and Moon (singer and bass player from "Kefren" also jumped on stage)... I'm not a huge Kiss fan.. only recognized 3 songs that they played... it was definitely for huge Kiss fans... Cold Gin was great! It reminded me Skid Row covering the song... :o) Beside that, I hang out with some "Kisseros" friends at the Expo and have a good time... I also saw Gilby, Johnny and Roxie at the hotel and later at the Venue ... after sunday show, Gilby and the rest of the guys went to Kinkenny (a scotish pub) to have some drinks and they joined a local band that was playing there... they stage was 2mtr x 2mtr !!! I wasn't there that night (I know the place and it's really cool), but a friend of mine who was there told me that they played Dead Flowers and Wild Horses (for time 1000, more or less, in the weekend) :o) Also, Gliby played in Cordoba on monday May 29th ... Cordoba is another city from another state of Argentina * Pao * Glitter *
